Tips For Candle Burning and Essential Oil Use

Tips for Burning Candles

  • Do Not Leave Lit Candles Unattended.
  • Never Place A Lit Candle Next To Anything Flammable Or That Can Catch Fire.
  • Do Not Burn Candles Within Reach Of Children Or Pets.
  • Always Use A CandleHolder When Burning Candles.
  • Do Not Place Candles Near Heavy Air Currents.
  • Never Touch A Hot Candle.
  • Trim The Candle Wick To 1/4 Inch Before Burning.
  • Outen A Candle Wick If The Flame Is Too High And Trim Before Relighting.
  • Always Use A Candle Snuffer To Outen Candles.
  • Do Not Use Sharp Implements To Remove Wax From A Glass Candle Holder.
  • In Order to Extend the Life of Your Candle, Burn 1 Hour Per Inch Diameter.  For Example, A 6" High x 3" Wide Pillar Candle Would Need to Burn 3 Hours After Lighting For The Melted Wax to Fully Reach the Candle Parameter.
  • "Hug" Your Candle Immediately After Extinguishing By Carefully Cupping Your Hands Around the Top of The Candle and Applying Gentle Pressure by Curling or Pushing Inward Forming an Inverted "Lip".  This Will Allow for Even Melting of the Wax.

Tips For Essential Oil Use

  • Never Take Essential Oils Orally And Avoid Getting Oils Around The Mouth Area.
  • Never Place Essential Oils In Or Near The Eyes.  If A Small Drop Of Oil Gets In Your Eyes Use a Small Amount Of Base Oil To Dilute The Essential Oil And Absorb With A Soft Cloth.  Rinse with Cold Water.  If Condition Persists Or A Medical Emergency Arises, Contact Medical Assistance.
  • Some Essential Oils Such As Spices May Cause Irritation On Persons With Sensitive Skin.  If Redness Or Itchiness Occurs Use A Base Cream Or A Base Oil On The Affected Area And Apply A Cold Wet Flannel Until The Irritation Disappears.
  • Some Essential Oils, Mainly Citrus Oils, May Cause Discoloration In Bright Sunlight.  It Is Best To Avoid Using On Exposed Skin When in Direct Contact With The Sun.
  • Apply Only Properly Diluted Oils To The Skin.
